What inspired you to book your session?
As my sessions were gifts, I’d have to say that my inspiration to book a future session is my existing experience doing a boudoir shoot.
How did you feel about your body before your session?
I was fairly confident in my body before session, as I had been exploring nudism to gain better confidence, but I still had more work to do in that area.
How did you feeling leading up to your session?
Leading up to session, I was mostly excited but nervous because I didn’t know what to expect or how I’d feel in the moment. Would I feel awkward? Would I feel natural? So I think my anxiety around it stemmed from being uncertain about how I would feel – not that I felt something specific.
How did you feel about your body after your session?
During session, I felt comfortable and silly. I felt comfortable to let my silly personality come through – it didn’t feel like a photoshoot but more just having fun in limited clothing lol After session, and before receiving my photos, my body image issues flooded. “What if I looked terrible?… I’m not sexy… I’m gonna look stupid.” Then I got my photos, and I couldn’t believe it was me, and it quieted every loud (nasty) voice in my head and replaced it with a more confident voice telling me I was hot and beautiful.
How has your session impacted your life?
It’s impacted my life because I am able to look at my body differently. I can look at it more confidently and with a higher appreciation.
What was your favorite part of your session?
My favorite part was when my nerves settled and my personality started coming out. It didn’t take long to get there either – that’s a testament to Alison.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking about doing a session?
My advice? If you want to, do it. Don’t think about it – just do it. Trust me… it’s worth it. I periodically look at my pictures on days where the ugly voices are louder than the confident voice. I just give the ugly voice reasons to shut the fuck up
